HANDS OF GOD PUPPET THEATER MEDAL IN COMPETITION!

On October 2-3, 2009 our team attended the One Way Street Regional Puppet Ministry Festival in Concord, NC. We competed in the song competition on Friday night against four other puppet ministries. We rocked the house with Carman's remix of Who's In The House. We had to wait until Saturday afternoon to find out the results. We received the Silver Medal with and average score of 89 out of 100 points. One other team received a Silver Medal, but our score was higher than theirs. The team that won the Gold Medal was from Clover, SC.

To our surprise...we also received a special recognition award for Outstanding Originality. We had so much fun at the festival! We learned some new techniques from some wonderful teachers. We hope to get the chance to attend the spring festival in Anderson, SC in March. We may even have the chance to be featured performers!

Hands of God Puppet Theater is a puppet ministry at Westminster Presbyterian Church of Rock Hill, SC. Established in 2006...now rockin' in 2009 under the direction of Barbara Willard, known as Barbara The Puppetlady.

Every Sunday morning H.O.G. Puppet Theater performs for the children that attend Pre-School Sunday School. With a cast of over two dozen puppets the Word of God is shared through parody songs and skits. Pockets the Kangaroo and Whiskers The Mouse come to visit the children weekly.

The H.O.G. Puppet Theater's first public performance was Saturday, December 6 at Christmasville in downtown Rock Hill, SC. The team performed a musical titled Cowboy Christmas. The energy and personalities of the puppeteers came out in every puppet! The show was a true crowd pleaser!
